i was the only one in the theater for this, which is a shame.
actually, before the film started, there was a couple a few rows back, but when the black and white fox logo appeared, one of them said "this isn't La La Land," and then they walked out.
damn straight this ain't La La Land, it actually won best picture.

I've seen All About Eve in parts before, but never the full thing. I've always wondered why it was on LGBT film lists and now I know. Eve Harrington is the biggest lesbian with a milf kink I've ever seen. She lives and breathes Margo Channing. She wants to be around her and thinks about her 24/7. She's desperate to please her and goes out of her way to make her happy. She wants to hop on Bill's dick because Margo's vagina's been on it. The list is endless. I know a lot of people hate Eve, but you can't help but admire a lesbian who manages to snatch a straight's career.

Maybe the greatest film ever made about performance. Not only is it as brilliant a look into the machinations of (surrogate) Hollywood as something like Sunset Boulevard, it also examines the nature of performance and its (deleterious) effect on identity and personal agency and the perception of those around you. One need not be a great person to be a great personality; in fact, the more the personality, the less the person.
Or maybe I just like movies about female sociopaths.
